Reachmedia launches online pre-shopping channel
Reachmedia is responding to consumer demand to offer shoppers a new way to evaluate products and compare bargains online before they hit the shops.
Lasoo.co.nz lets customers “pre-shop” by searching through New Zealand’s leading retail catalogues to find the best deals – all from one website. People can browse by category, brand or retailer, and sign up to see specials at stores in their local area. They can also create personalised wish lists and email alerts which let them know when certain items go on sale.
“Reachmedia’s digital initiatives are the culmination of 12 months of feasibility and planning,” says David Nation, General Manager Sales and Marketing. “We believe offering our customers a multi-channel solution will give them more opportunities to reach their customers, through both the letterbox and online, rather than simply increasing catalogue print and distribution numbers.
“We are acutely aware of consumer preferences towards the online space, hence our investment online to further support and enhance the power of catalogues,” he says.
The Lasoo concept was first launched in 2007 in Australia by Salmat, which is the 50:50 joint venture partner for Reachmedia with New Zealand Post. Lasoo.com.au now regularly receives one million unique visitors each month with around a quarter of these making purchases as a result of seeing a product on Lasoo (Nielsen/Net Ratings).
