sustainability
As part of Reachmedia’s commitment to sustainability, the company participate, along
with other parts of the New Zealand Post Group, in the St James Ethics Centre Corporate
Responsibility Index survey (‘CRI’) on an annual basis. The CRI result is then benchmarked
against other comparable businesses to give a gauge on achievement of sustainability
strategy against other local and global businesses. The results, and associated
benchmarking, deliver a measure of strategy performance, helping us to identify
areas for improvement.
The CRI assesses the extent to which corporate strategy is integrated into responsible
business practice throughout an organisation. It provides a benchmark for companies
to evaluate their management practice in four key areas of corporate responsibility
(community, environment, marketplace and workplace) and performance in a range of
environmental and social impact areas material to their business.
Reachmedia measure our emissions based on a tool developed by Landcare that splits
emissions into three scopes:
Scope 01
Emissions are generated from sources owned directly by Reachmedia.
Scope 02
Focused around electricity emissions.
Scope 03
Relates to emissions from sources outside of Reachmedia ownership but directly relates
to our operations, i.e. Transport providers. In particular, we have placed an emphasis
on understanding the credentials of our major suppliers.
Reachmedia considers that its success is directly linked to how we approach the
stewardship of resources within the marketplace, environment and communities that
we touch. As such, Reach created a sustainability strategy that is at the heart
of our business and acts as a “Guiding light” of how we, individually and as a business,
think about and interact with our people, our clients, our suppliers, our community
and our environment (Our Four Pillar’s).
